Time for a family picture!

On saturday I had a session booked in Wolseley. This is a beautiful town, and we chose to do some of the pictures at the spillway, off the lake. What a gorgeous setting! I thought their choice of white with jeans looked so sharp against the rocks!

They also told me that this was the first time they’d ever gotten family pictures done. I hear that alot. I know it takes a lot of effort to get a portrait done, but the reward is so great. The way I see it, family portraits should be viewed as heirlooms. These images will be passed down through the generations, and will be cherished by so many people, other than just yourselves. I really believe that. Think about the stacks of old pictures you’ve looked at of your parents, grandparents and great grandparents.  In another 50 years, these daughters will be sitting around the kitchen table, looking through these images with their children and grandchildren, and will have some terrific memories to share with them.

One of my favorite little people :)

I’ve been photographing this little girl since she was 3 months old. She has spunk like you wouldn’t believe, and I just think she’s one of the greatest kids. Always full of smiles, energy, and cheer. I laughed during the entire session. She puts on a terrific show! I know I’m posting a lot of pics, but she’s just too cute.

I had to include this one too. I was just finishing the session when I realized, after all these years, I didn’t have a picture with her and myself. Mom grabbed my camera and did an awesome job! I love this image :)

Good friends

This super cute family gets to see me at my best, and my very worst. They’re our backyard neighbors, and it’s a good thing we like eachother, because we practically step out our house onto their bbq pad. Our boys have constant companions in eachother, and most days, it works out pretty well! I’m so thankful for the terrific friendship that we’ve acquired the past few years. Thanks for a fun evening guys  :)

Again, one more!

Well, I’m editing and again I found one more that I like, so I’m adding late once more.

Tuesday’s session

After one cancellation due to rain, we made it out on only our second try. Not bad! It was a beautiful night and we had a bunch of fun. Thanks for making the drive down!

One more!

As I’ve been editing last weekend’s wedding, I keep coming across images that I want to add. I’ll keep it to just this one. I love her red dining room wall!

Kipling wedding

On saturday I woke up to a drizzly dreary day. Then I headed towards Kipling, and it was dark. Really, really dark. And then I hit rain. Lots and lots of rain. Then I wanted to cry, because I didn’t want to get stuck doing this whole wedding inside, and I knew the bride and groom would be dissapointed as well. By the time the ceremony was over, it had cleared off! We did family pictures outside, then to keep things interesting, it started pouring again! Off to the local sub station to do some pictures under the porch. Then some wicked blue skies greeted us, and it was a perfect match to the bride’s navy blue accented dress! Then it cleared off again, and we got brilliant sunshine :)   What a rollercoater! We managed to work around the weather, and everything turned out beautifully. Hope you guys had a great night, and have a terrific honeymoon.

Aren’t her eyes just gorgeous!?

Love down on the farm

On friday night, I finally got to go out and shoot a session, without having to worry about rain.  Not that the day didn’t bring rain earlier! This weather has been a bit of a hassle, with having to reschedule people at the last minute, because of all the showers. Fortunately, the rain quit in time for our evening out at the farm. And look at how romantic you both look ;)

I love this picture, but then again, I’m a sucker for a cowboy hat. Reminds me of my hometown.

Stripes

My girlfriend stopped over the other night with her daughter, and she looked so adorable in her little stripey tights and purple shoes. I asked her if she’d mind coming back over during the day so I could grab a few shots of her little girl. I don’t mind at all that I never had a girl, but if I did have one, I’d dress her just like this!

Of course Casey had to sneak in for one. I’m not sure what he was doing, but she was sure checking him out!

If I could get away with it, I’d have this exact same outfit! I would have been brave enough 10 years ago to wear this sort of thing, but in my old, boring age, I’m afraid I’ve wimped out in the style department.

Christmas Cards now available

As much as most of us still wish it were summer, fall is here, and Christmas is soon to follow. Get ahead of the game this year, and order your Christmas cards now. If you’ve been to the studio in the past year, you can get cards made from your favorite images. I can put up to three images on a card. These come with envelopes and are printed as 5 x 7s. I’ll do up a design for you and let you approve it before printing. If you have any questions, just let me know.  306-697-2435 or pmphoto@sasktel.net
