Anyone who has come to the studio and sat with me at my desk to design a montage, or album, will know that I have a big ol’ binder full of quotes. I love words, and I’ve been collecting quotes, sayings, poems, etc since I was in junior high school.
Because I have a secondary love of language and poetry (though I don’t nurture this love as much anymore), I thought I’d start sharing the odd quote here and there on the blog. Here’s one I’ve always really liked.
“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life had breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson (a man of many, many wonderful quotes)
