”Are you feeling crazy this morning Tatum??” This is the phone call I get at 9:05 a.m. this morning, from this grad student. Whoo hoo!!!! Snowy shoot! As you can see in my last post, it started snowing last night and didn’t stop. When we woke up it was thick and wet and about a foot deep. Perfect day for grad casuals! Thank goodness it was on a day when my lovely assistant Kim was already coming in. She lives across the street from me, so I called her and told her we were heading out for a shoot. She arrived in full snow gear, whereas I forgot my mitts and left the house with barefeet in my winter boots. Needless to say, I had chilly ankles by the time we were done. We fought through thigh high snow, drove on completely snowed in backroads, came across our poor South Africa doctor, stuck and waiting for a tow truck, and had many strange stares as people slowed down to see what we were doing, and inquire if we needed any help!
I should also mention that this grad student was my work experience student in Grade 10, and I absolutely loved having her with me for those few weeks. She’s got a radiant smile and a crazy spunky personality. She’s one of those people that you just want to be around. We drove out to her farm and got a few shots with some baby calves, some hyper horses, and lots and lots of snow! Thanks for a fun morning Erin, and thank you Kim for being a spectacular assistant, going far beyond the call of duty!
