Another expectant momma

Last night my friend (Jocelyn Harvey Photography) made the long drive from Carnduff to get her family’s pictures done. Two hours in a vehicle isn’t fun when your belly is ever expanding, so I really appreciate all their effort to get here. We had a great time talking shop, and letting her be on the other side of the camera for a change. Her little guy was a real sweety, and he kept dad running the whole time. I love the tossing in the air shot we got! He was sooooo high up. :)   Good luck with the next few weeks guys. Hope you’re feeling well enough to come down for a newborn shoot!

Mini smiles

A few days ago I had a visit from my first toddler in quite awhile. She was a little unsure of me, and wasn’t about to give in to any huge smiles, but she still let us grab a few shots! We walked around some pretty flowers, and let her just explore a bit. I think we got some really cute images, even if we didn’t get any big teethy grins. I think these mini smiles can be just as sweet.

Wedding #2!

Saturday was wedding number 2 for the weekend. It was a local one, so it was fun hanging out with people that I knew already. They were all so goofy and entertaining.  I was giggling all afternoon.

I also brought along a girl from town that really likes taking pictures. She was awesome!! She got so many cool shots, from unique angles.  I think I’ll take her along more often! Thanks so much Josee.   :)    I’ve marked which ones were her shots. She got great detail pics, and lots of fun candid ones of all the little flower girls.

A touch of Ireland

On friday I spent the day with a terrific family. My great friend and fellow photographer (Tracy’s Portraits), watched her daughter marry an incredible young man.  Their love for eachother was so emotional.  I hadn’t actually met her daughter until the day of the wedding, but I already felt I knew her. She and her new husband are such gentle loving people. They will be a blessing to all that they come to meet in their lives together. They will be spending 3 weeks in Ireland for their honeymoon. I am so excited for them!! Congratulations Kelsi and Terrance. I had a perfect day with you guys and the whole family. I know you will have a wonderful life together. Thanks so much for choosing me to capture your day. I was so nervous, knowing that I was photographing a photographer’s family, but you two are so photogenic and affectionate, that my job was simply to follow you and catch you being yourselves.

And because the day was a bit raining and dreary, as in keeping with the Irish theme, I thought I’d end the post with an Irish wedding blessing.

“May you always have enough happiness to keep you sweet, trials to keep you strong, success to make you eager, friends to give you comfort, wealth to meet your needs, enthusiasm to look for tomorrow, and a growing love to make each day better than the day before.”

A dance with dad to end the evening. I love this image.  It’s hard to get a good shot when you’re crying though.

Working backwards

I couldn’t hink of a title for this post, but since I’ve had two newborns in the past week, and now I’m posting a pregnancy session, I titled it Working Backwards. I know, I’m so clever. On with the post….

I haven’t shot a pregnancy session in awhile, so I was very excited for this one. And the fact that this girl travelled 2 hours one way to come for this told me that she was excited too. Because of that, I’m posting quite a few shots. We tried out a new location, and though it was a little overgrown, it worked well. And of course Howie’s is pretty much a regular stop, no matter the session type.  I owe that guy big time!  I should explain the first set of pictures in the entry. My neighbor has taken on the monumental task of cleaning all of the school buses in our division over the summer. So every day there are a few sitting outside her house. This momma-to-be is a school teacher. I thought it would be fun to do a few quick pics by the school bus. My neighbor thought I was a big dork, and maybe this girl did too, but I just wanted to try it out. So I know they’re a bit corny, but they’re different.  I knew we had already gotten all the pretty, sweet, “good” shots, so this was just an extra!

Best of luck with the rest of the pregnancy!! :)

Another new boy!

This morning I got to meet a little man that we’ve been waiting to meet for 9 months! His mommy and daddy are good friends of ours, and we’ve all be anxious for his arrival.  He is a perfect doll, and didn’t cry the entire time I was there. I got to give him lots of cuddles and love, and take a few pictures in between. I can’t wait to see him change and grow and become friends with my two boys. Between our two families, we have four boys, so our get togethers will consist of motor sports, remote control trucks, bug catching, and all other things boyish. Welcome to the world mister!!

Valley wedding

On Saturday I headed out North to do a wedding near the Qu’Appelle Valley.  We had the most incredible skies! After a week of rain, it was so nice to have good weather for the weekend. The colors were incredible, between the blue skies, the green hills and the red dresses. I know I’ve posted quite a few images, but I was having trouble narrowing the ones down from on top of the valley. Hope you guys had a great night! Thanks for being more than willing to travel all over the place for photos. :)

Newborn Rider Fan

I had to lead this post with the image below. It took us awhile to get this little guy good and asleep, enough to mold him where we wanted to. Once he was finally sacked out though, I was able to get him into the bowl and I put his hand on the ball. It only stayed a split second, but it was enough! I love this picture!! We got many more, and even though mom and dad thought he wasn’t all together cooperating, he was a great baby. He never even pooped or peed on anyone, which is rare for a newborn session. :)   He’s got a great family to come into the world with, and I’m sure his big sister will be a second mommy to him. Enjoy the mini preview!
