Families galore

I have had quite a few family sessions in the last few days, so I’m going to combine them in one big post to save time. This first family was a riot. I did their pictures on saturday, before the wedding.  They were just so much fun, and loving, and goofy. I decided instead of posting the formal, traditional pics, I’d make a collage with some funnier ones. Grandpa had us all giggling steady. He was quite a card.

Next up are monday’s sessions. The first one was done out at York Lake, near Yorkton. The weather was a little brisk, and dreary, and some of the babes were under weather, but we still got some beautiful shots with all the fall colors. It was gorgeous by the water.  I did a quick shopping trip in Yorkton before I left, then headed back home to do this other family. They were a lot of fun too, and the kids were super tough out in the cold with only their t-shirts. I don’t want these leaves to go away. These past few weeks the trees have been breath taking, and I can’t handle the thought of bare, leavless trees that are an inevitability in our climate.  Enjoy the previews everyone.

Super fun wedding

Fun, fun, fun. I had so much fun with this couple and their wedding party. The bride is this totally crazy, hilarious, spunky woman. I got such a kick out of her! And like I said, the wedding party was great too. They made the pictures so enjoyable, even while combatting the less than ideal weather. Thank you for keeping me entertained all day. It was a pretty long day of shooting, but I had a great time. You guys were terrific to spend the day with. Hope Vegas is perfect!

If you’re in or around the Whitewood area, check out this salon, Rustic Funk.  They’ve got an awesome space and the hair was gorgeous.

Bustling had to be done, and as any photographer knows, our job go waaay beyond just taking pictures.  The lovely Marcy Hekkila got this shot of me helping out. Thanks again for coming and keeping me company and carrying my accessories!

When the bride saw me shooting the dancing pictures, she reached around behind her new husband and gave him a good squeeze, and made sure to look back at me to make sure I got the shot. Nailed it!

Ending off my night of shooting, I captured the bride and some friends doing the Chicken dance with the kids. What a great sport. :)

Friday afternoon

After my engagement session on friday afternoon, I met up with this  family. It didn’t take their little one long to warm up to me. At first it seems like it would, but she was all smiles within a few minutes. She’s got the prettiest blonde curls that looked so beautiful in the sunlight. Enjoy your sneak peak. :)

“Fall”ing in love

O.k. I know that the title of this post is completely cheezy, but come on. It’s hard thinking of headings! So since it’s fall, and this is an engagement session, it’s going to be called “Falling in Love”.  If my joke is lame, so be it.

This couple is going to tie the knot in a little less than a year, and I got to meet them for the first time today. They’re a great pair and we had a good time together this afternoon. Weather turned in our favor after lunch, and we got lots of sunshine, and no wind. Perfecto!  Good luck with the next year of planning the wedding!

My favorite musical genius

I have to ask.  If you aren’t listening to this brilliant band, why not???  I just have to share music stuff once in a while. Sorry!  :)   If you love good music, get the new Dave Matthews Band’s  Cd, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. It’ll blow you away.

The Manhattan

I just got my new Manhattan style sample album in and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!  This is a new  album that I’m going to start carrying.  As shown, the cover has an image on it, which I think is pretty sweet!  The pages are nice and sturdy and the images are printed right on the page, unlike the style I normally carry, which has the prints  stuck to the pages with a sticky backing. This looks alot more polished.

The size shown is a 7 x 7 and it’s a great size. This sample one was done with a casual session I did in the spring. I think these would be great for grads especially, but also for a little kid session, or newborn, or engagement. Actually, it would be great for anything!

10 days old

I got to meet a little man this morning who had a big 2 1/2 hour long car ride to get here.  This first image pretty much sums up how he felt about me!  I thought it was so cute, so I just had to include it. He did really good for us though, he just really loved his soother and didn’t want us taking it from him. If he had that, he was a happy boy. We did manage to get our shots without it though. Let him suck, pull it out quickly, get the shot, give it back to him.

Thanks so much for making such a big effort to come for your session. You can view mommy’s pregnancy shots here.  Think of it as a before and after thing. ;)

I had to include this last image, even though he’s got his soother. I made the toque the night before his session, so I needed to do at least one shot with it, but he wasn’t willing to give up that soother for these ones!
