Engagement

It’s been a crazy time lately with photographing other photographers. First is was Sharon, from Valley Portraits, this session is Marcy Velestuk, of Parade Imagery, and I have another two photographer friends coming up on the blog in the near future! I just need to get my family in gear and get one of my photog girlfriends to shoot a quick session for us.

Anyway, Marcy had done her work placement with me when she took the now extinct photography course at SIAST in Regina. She is now living in alberta, planning a wedding, and doing some photography out there as well. Check out her site HERE. I will be photographing their wedding next year, and it will be awesome. If anyone has any antique tea cannisters that they want to sell or lend out to her, she’d be forever grateful to you :)

Couples

I met this couple last year when they came out from Regina for a shoot together. They contacted me awhile back and wanted to come out again. There wasn’t too much left in the way of leaves, so we used other non-tree areas, plus some studio stuff.  Here’s the preview!

Lemberg Family

In a few weeks I’ll be photographing this couple’s wedding, so I headed out to Lemberg to meet them and do a family/engagement session.  Here’s what we got!

Full day in Regina

A few saturdays ago I spent the day inRegina shooting sessions. I won’t even mention the annoying weather, but it was less than desireable.  I’m amazed it doesn’t show more in the pictures, but trust me, with the stinking wind, there were a lot of outtakes. Well, I guess I did mention the weather after all. I know I probably get annoying with all my posts and commenting on the weather conditions, but my goodness has it been a challenge this year!! Wind, rain, rescheduling, postponing, etc.  I should give myself a slap and be thankful that I don’t live in Pakistan where the weather is destroying basically everything.  As frustrating as our climate is this year, I guess we’ve really got it pretty good in comparison to other parts of the world.

Anyway, enough about that.  I’m going to group everyone in one post again, to save myself a little time, since I have loads and loads of editing waiting for me.  Here are the two young families and engagement session that I shot.  It was great to meet all of you and explore the city a bit more than I usually get to.  Sorry for the long wait on this!!

E-session

In a couple months from now I’ll be photographing this local couple’s wedding, so for a warm up, we did an engagement session. These are a good idea to do, cause then the guys find out that I’m not so bad, and it won’t be nearly as painful as they may have expected. Right Mr. H??  Getting your picture taken can be a  little bit of fun. I try to make it so anyway!  Waaaay back, about 11 years ago, I photographed this guy’s sister’s wedding. It was one of my very first ones, and they were so wonderful to take a chance on me when I was so new to photograph.  My style, experience and camera gear sure has changed in that length of time (I’m one of the rare younger photographers who actually worked with film for a number of years before the digital revolution!)   I’m looking forward to your wedding. You guys have been blessed with great weather for your sessions, so I’m sure your wedding will be spectacular!!

Engagement – #2

By the time we started this second engagement session, it was already 5:00 p.m. (so happy that it’s staying light a little later these days!!!)  We came across a beautiful Mountain Ash tree, filled with dried red berries. Jackpot!!  It was stunning with the low light hitting it, and they were an affectionate couple, so we got lots of romantic ones in this area. Though winter is more of a challenge shooting outdoor sessions, you can get so many pretty shots with the snowy scenery.

Saturday engagement session – #1

Saturday was a busy day. I had the little guy from the last post, this couple and another couple after them (as well as a wedding consultation and a grad student’s cap & gown pics! Full, full day).  I’ve known this girl for quite a few years, since she is the dance instructor for our local dance group (which is boasting a crew of around 70 students this year!!).  I’ll be photographing their wedding this coming summer, so they’ll be making more appearances here in the future….

November sessions, still no snow!

This couple made the long trip from Saskatoon for their session, so I was thrilled that the weather cooperated! I would have never thought a session in mid november would be #1, without snow, and #2, warm enough to shoot an entire session! Their pup was so sweet and well behaved, and we were able to go around town and get a good variety of locations. Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule guys! You’ll be seeing these two again, next summer for their wedding.

Friday afternoon

This was the second of two sessions on friday. And another reoccuring couple! I photographed this girl’s grad as well, and they were a couple already back then too!  They brought their pup along, and she got in on a few pics. She matches the dry grass so well.  :)

Engaged!

This couple is one of my weddings for next summer. They were super sweet, and she even gave me a big hug after we were all done. :)   Thanks guys for coming down, and for booking with me for next year. We’ll have a blast.
