Newborn

This is another one of those families who does very well in documenting their lives through pictures. I’m sure I mentioned it when I posted their last family session, but I’ve been there with them through every major event. Here we have baby #2 to welcome to the family, and we captured her within days of her birth. I have had the little hammock for ages, but have never gotten a shot with it. I was so happy she was such a peaceful and content little lady. She was a perfect model for it :)

I can say in all honesty that trying to get a picture with a toddler  and a newborn is virtually impossible. I try as hard as I can every time to get the siblings together, but in most cases, it’s a very difficult shot to get. That being said, I am soo stinkin’ proud of this image! Not because I’m so amazing, because I didn’t have much to do with the success of this, but because this little man is such a good listener. When I asked him to take off his shirt, put his head on his sister’s back and not smile, he did it! Unbelievable. Thanks so much dude :)

Family

Last week I photographed a local family (our neighbors actually) and the sun was beautiful. I love how the pinks looked with the golden colors of the evening :)

Family

On labour day, we went to the city to hang out with some friends for the afternoon.  After the game was over, we went to the park for a quick little mini session. Lindsey and I have become friends over the past few years, as she’s also a photographer. She is Lilyfield photography, and you can find some of her images on her facebook page.  It’s been cool getting to know her whole family as well. Her boys and my youngest LOVE to play together, and her husband and my husband share a passion for old snowmobiles. We’re a match made in heaven ;)   Thanks for the fun day guys.

I think this shot below is my favorite family picture in recent months. I just love how cuddly everyone is.

A celebration

A good friend of mine, Sharon Clark of Valley Portraits, got married to an incredibly cool guy over winter, in Hawaii. Unfortunately for me, she didn’t bring me along  :( .  But they did have a small family reception at the end of august, and I got to go to that! She has a hard time putting down her camera, and she did have it with her almost all day, but I tried to capture her family and friends, as well as all the little details that went into their day so she wouldn’t have to do it all!  It was great fun just hanging out and shooting for fun. I’m so happy for you guys, and it was a beautiful day to celebrate with you, even if it wasn’t Hawaii.

Extended family

It was a perfectly beautiful evening to photograph this extended family grouping so we took full advantage of many different areas between the two family farms.  Lots of variety, that’s for sure!

Family

Since I last photographed this family, there has been a new addition!  We used the same yard as we did last time, but we used all new spots and it worked out great.  Just had to avoid the odd cow patty…

A few short weeks ago I photographed this family before their new arrival. It’s a few posts back, and it was an amazing session for me. I absolutely loved it. When they came back last week with their new baby girl, I was so excited!  She was an absolute doll, sleeping outside in the breeze with not so much as a peep.

Casey was running around playing in the yard and I had set my second camera in my bag on the grass where I was shooting.  He picked it up and took a bunch of me while I was working.  Both boys tend to like grabbing the camera and shooting, so I may have a few helpers in a couple years. :)

Road Trip Part 2

After I shot a few days in Meadow Lake, I headed back to Saskatoon for another full day of sessions.  Baby, engagement, family. Alot got covered!  I think I said it in the last post too, but I just love Saskatoon.  It’s so full of prettiness, everywhere you turn. I really enjoyed my time there working, as well as wandering around a little and seeing the downtown area.  I have too many weddings booked next year to do this road trip thing again, but I think 2013 might have to be another year of hitting the road to do more family type shoots.  So if someone out in Montreal or the Maritimes might be reading this, I’d happily come out there and do some location work!

Road Trip Part 1

As many of you know, I decided not to take any weddings in August of this year, but instead chose to go on the road and shoot a few family sessions. I grew up in Meadow Lake and so I threw it out there if anyone wanted pictures at the lakes in the Meadow Lake Provincial Park (the BEST park in Saskatchewan by the way!) I’d come up and shoot.  It ended up that I booked a few sessions in Saskatoon on either side of my Meadow Lake trip as well, so it was a terrific time on the road, shooting in a different spot every day. I went to Jeanette Lake, Loon Lake and Kimball Lake, as well as all over the beautiful city of Saskatoon, including the Forestry Farm and the downtown area.  I absolutely loved getting away again, and exploring the city of bridges in between sessions. Thanks to everyone who booked in, and I thank you for your patience with me! Being on location for 8 days and being away from the computer means a TON of files to go through once all the fun of travelling is over! Enjoy :) I know it’s been a long time since I posted anything!

Family

At the end of last week I photographed a local family here in town. We found a beautiful area that I haven’t used very often before. The little girls kept things lively with lots of giggles, gymnastic moves, and kisses. They’re always so much fun. Hope you guys had a good time on holidays!
