Grad

This grad student had such a unique dress. Literally one of a kind actually, since her aunt made it for her. I love that.  And a super funky necklace too.  Thanks for coming and putting up with walking around bit and being chased by giant mosquitos. I could do a really long blog post with all the outtakes from this season’s grads, with people slapping, or batting away the ugly buggers!

Sibling Grads

Later on friday afternoon I photographed another couple graduates.  They were so willing to go out in the wet ugliness.  And it wasn’t just lightly sprinkling either when they came.  It was full out raining. Big thanks to Murray and Ginger, and Arnold and Caroline for the use of their porches. Don’t know what I’d do without all these generous people in town!  Thanks so much for letting us invade your yards. :)

Grad

This grad student drove out from Qu’appelle a few days ago for her session. I had photographed her sister a couple years ago, and now it was her day.  It was raining on and off, which is really no big surprise these days, but we managed.  It’s getting a little tricky this month trying to get good outdoor shots when you’re stuck on a porch, or under an umbrella, but I’m really trying to find new angles, areas, poses!  If anyone has any covered areas in their yard that they want to let me borrow, it would be very much appreciated!

Another farm girl

The day after I photographed the twin farm girls, I photographed a farm girl grad student. This girl LOVES farm life, and is very involved with 4H, so naturally, the farm was the place to do her session.  With all the mud and rain, it was a little bit of a challenge getting to different areas that we wanted to use. She was very willing though, so I included a picture at the end, showing just how muddy it was, and that she was all for going to where I wanted her to go, just to get the shot. However, after taking about 10 or 15 steps into that area, we decided it probably wasn’t worth the effort!

Lember Grad

Another gorgeous Lemberg grad student, with the most piercing, icy eyes ever! Amazing….

Kipling Grad

On Saturday Josie and I were in Kipling photographing some of the grad students there. It was such a fun group! We had longer sessions this year than we usually do, so we really wandered around trying to find new spots. When I shoot in Kipling on grad day, we set up in the library so we have some studio type shots, but once we head outdoors, we’re kind of limited to areas within walking distance, and we only have 30 minutes or so per student.  We were able to get so much variety this year though! I always like the brick wall, and I’ve always lucked out with the cherry tree being in bloom.  Thanks to everyone who booked in with us and for being willing to walk all over in their uncomfortable heels to get to new locations around the school!

Grad

Later on friday night I had another few sessions with some sibling graduates. I’ve been photographing them for years for band, so it was nice to be able to give them something totally different, and alot more fun! Thanks again for a few borrowed yards, Kevin & Tamara and Neil & Shirley. There are so many gorgeous blooming cherry trees in town now, and I’m trying to use them as much as possible!

Grad

On friday I had another out of town grad student in for pictures. She looked awesome in red, and we had a beautiful, sunny morning to shoot. We drove all over town and borrowed a few yards for pics. Thanks Carol, Clara and the ladies at the museum annex!

Missed one!

Oops. I forgot this one, and it was one of my favorites!

Grad

It was a beautiful night the other night. No rescheduling, no wind. Just giant, mutant mosquitoes, but we dealt with it.  Thanks for coming! :)
