Elkhorn wedding – Part 2

Now for part two, the wedding party and couple.  The first shot is from Josie.  When soft snow is falling, you have to catch it on your tongue!

When I saw this shot of the groom in my viewfinder, I showed his new wife right away.  He’s got great eyes!  She looked at it and said “He’s so good looking (or hot?? I can’t remember exactly!)  He’s ‘magazine‘ quality!”  I’m not sure if I got that word for word, but it was something cute and close to that!

Elkhorn, MB wedding Part 1

I spent the past weekend in Manitoba, at the Elkhorn Resort.   It was such a great getaway (even though I was there for work  :) ).  My side kick, Josie, was there as a guest to the wedding, so she spent the day photographing with me as well.  We got sooo many beautiful shots! It was the most perfect wintery day. With Christmas themed decor, a candle lit ceremony, mild weather, and soft snow falling all day long, it was magical.  The wedding party left the ceremony on a sleigh, pulled by a team of horses, and then took a little tour through town.  Just like a scene out of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol”

Just like the last wedding I posted, I’m going to do this in a few different posts, so there’s something new and exciting for the next few days. I see by my sitemeter for the blog that I usually get around 175-200 visits per day, and since shooting has wrapped up, and I’m not posting as regularly, it’s dropped to just over 100!  Sorry for the lack of new pics.  It’s just that time of year when orders, editing and packaging have to come first!

Regina wedding – part 2

And the second half of the Regina wedding….

Regina Wedding

Last weekend marked my second last wedding of the season.  Since I’m basically done shooting now for the remainder of the year, I thought I’d post this wedding in two sections, so there’s something new on here in a day or two.  We kind of worked backwards during this shoot, so it was a little different for me.  The ceremony wasn’t until later in the day, so we met at the Regina Floral Conservatory for pictures with the couple and wedding party in the afternoon.  So here’s the first installment of our time together last friday!

Wonderful clients

I’ve had so many awesome couples this past year for weddings. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know them all, and spending their day with them.  This couple recieved their 30 x 20 Gallery Wrap canvas today (part of my wedding packages), and this is the e-mail I got from her…

Tatum,

I LOVE my canvas! Thank you so much! LOVE the finish — absolutely perfect.

This is truly the cherry on top of a wonderful experience. You helped to make our day so special — and beautifully captured every moment. I know we will look back on your amazing photos for many, many years to come. Although the day has passed, the pictures will forever remind us of the indescribable feelings of our wedding day.

Thanks again. We look forward to working with you more in the future!

Wedding

My last autumn wedding was shot in Wolseley, and was with a couple and wedding party that I knew quite well. It was a pretty, sunny day, and we managed to find one tree  that had a few golden leaves left clinging.   The red bridesmaids dresses were just the punch of color that we needed against the rest of the leaveless trees, and grey barn.  Thanks for making the day so much fun guys!

There’s always that one groomsman that makes the day interesting…..

Regina wedding

I’ve shot quite a number of weddings where the husband was an officer, but this couple are both officers, so that was a first for me!  I am a very patriotic Canadian, and there’s just something about seeing the mountie uniform that gives me a shiver. I just love the symbolism of the serge (don’t know if I spelled that correctly!)  We had a spectacular fall day, and I was so glad to be a part of it. This bride has been in a few wedding parties that I’ve photographed, and a number of the bridesmaids were former brides of mine as well.  It was great to see so many familiar faces. Hope your honeymoon is going perfectly. :)

The dancing shot below is Josie’s. I’m absolutely thrilled with it. The person’s flash going off behind just adds so much to this already romantic,  image.  I think it gives if a bit of a magical feel. Thanks J.

Esterhazy wedding

Sunshine, glorious sunshine!!  How lucky were we to get the one good day of the week!  It was a beautiful day on saturday, and the wedding party was so much fun, and the couple was awesome, and we had a blast.  And for all you Habs fans out there, you would have loved the bride’s grandma who did the wedding ceremony.  She got out the flag and draped it over them, while using a hockey analogy to describe married life. Cool lady!

Congrats guys. :)

Ring shot below – Josie’s idea.  Very cool.

Blackstrap wedding

Eeeek. It’s been over a week since this wedding, and I’m just getting this up.  My apologies!!  This was my last wedding in the Saskatoon area (thank goodness for my new Santa Fe, with all this driving I did this month. Loving my free XM radio!)  The wedding was held at Blackstrap Cedar Lodge, and the ceremony was celebrated at the top of a big hill, overlooking the lake. It was incredibly windy, but gorgeous. The blue skies were perfect!  We were eaten alive by mosquitos, but we managed to get a few shots between swaps and slaps!  Congrats guys. Thanks for having me cover everything for you!

Saskatoon wedding #2

The day after the TTD and family sessions up north, I headed back out to S’toon bright and early to shoot this wedding. The groom’s sister and I got to know eachother when she lived here in Grenfell, and I’ve since gotten to know her whole family as well.  They’re wonderful people, and I enjoyed getting to see them again, as it’s been quite a while!  The ceremony was quite emotional, and the kicker was when the bride went to the piano and played a song and sang for her new groom.  Tears were definately flowing all around! It was very beautiful.  Congrats on your marriage guys.  Enjoy your new life together. :)
